Park West Voted #1 Gallery in Detroit

Park West Gallery has been voted metro Detroit's #1 Art Gallery in WDIV’s “4 the Best” contest! Nearly 240,000 website visitors cast votes for their favorites in a number of categories from Best Burger to Best Local Bands. More than 70 art galleries from Detroit and the surrounding area were nominated.

“We’re honored to once again be voted the top art gallery in metro Detroit,” said Albert Scaglione, CEO of Park West Gallery. “For over 40 years we’ve been bringing art and artists to the area, and we look forward to many more years of supporting the arts in Detroit.”

Park West Gallery CEO Receives Q2 Award
Albert Scaglione, founder and CEO of Park West Gallery, was honored on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, by Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson at the 18th Annual Quality People, Quality County (Q2) breakfast at the Centerpoint Marriott in Pontiac. The Q2 Award is given each year to members of the community who have made a positive, continuous impact on the residents of Oakland County and Southeast Michigan.

Albert Scaglione was recognized specifically for his unbridled generosity and passionate community involvement through the Park West Foundation and Park West CARES.

Michigan Sports Hall of Fame Honors

Park West Gallery founder and CEO, Albert Scaglione, and wife, Mitsie Scaglione, were honored during the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame’s annual induction ceremony at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, MI, on September 13, 2010. The Hall of Fame recognized the Scagliones for their extensive and generous involvement in Michigan.

Park West Gallery Donates Clothing, Art
The September 8-14, 2010 issue of The Michigan Chronicle featured an article entitled "Park West Gallery donates clothing, art to Grace Centers of Hope." Grace Centers is one of many Metro Detroit and southeast Florida nonprofit organizations benefiting from Park West Gallery‘s donation initiative, Park West CARES.
Park West owners Albert and Mitsie Scaglione have a longstanding relationship with Grace Centers of Hope. In 2008, they donated more than $25,000 to the nonprofit towards its Men’s Dorm Renovation Project. This generous gift spearheaded Grace Center’s fundraising campaign for the project... Park West Gallery was honored to be chosen as this year’s Michigan representative for the “2010 Prestigious Hall Of Galleries” that judged The 2010 American Art Awards. Park West Gallery was also selected as the Michigan judge in 2009. Actor Thom Bierdz, who plays Phillip Chancellor III on The Young and the Restless,

(Written by Morris Shapiro) The experience of viewing a Robert Kipniss work is one which requires a determined engagement and attention on the part of the viewer. As I often say: “You have to go to great art. It doesn’t often come to you.” At first view, a Kipniss work may appear so subtle that one will walk right past it. But those who linger are rewarded.

His images draw us in with a confluence of impressions, personal associations and feelings only hinted at. Feelings which suggest past experiences derived from our own trace memories and perceptions of nature, remembered somewhere deep within us.
