WINSTON, Oregon ( – Thousands of dollars worth of free paintings are being donated to Douglas High School in Winston and the city is getting a new logo all from efforts by a Michigan based art gallery. Park West Gallery of Southfield, Michigan unveiled the paintings Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Douglas High.
The gallery also donated several art books to the school. Students will get permanent access to the paintings and books to study them as part of their art classes at the high school.

The donation ended up at Douglas High School thanks to the Mayor of Winston Rex Stevens and his wife Gail Stevens. Both collect art and wanted to find a way give back to the Douglas High Art Department. The Stevens say the department made a profound, positive impact on their daughter. Eventually, the Stevens found Park West Gallery in Michigan. It made the donation to the high school and city after hearing stories of the city’s economic trouble...

FIGUERES, Spain — In the late 1990s, Roy E. Disney, Walt Disney’s nephew, discovered the paintings and storyboards for the unfinished Destino collaboration film between Walt Disney and Salvador Dali. Roy decided to reprise the film and it became one of his greatest and most passionate projects.

In addition to completing the film, a series of graphic

works were created from the Dali artwork to commemorate the project and allow collectors to enjoy an added dimension to the unprecedented collaboration. Park West Gallery is proud to have been selected to represent the Destino artworks published by Collector’s Editions and to be able to bring these sought after and historically unique works to collectors worldwide.

On Nov. 5, 2010, the Gala-Salvador Dali Foundation opened a new exhibit featuring the works of Destino. "DALI + DISNEY = DESTINO" is now on view through May 8, 2011. Learn more »

"Rex and I would like to thank you for the wonderful time we had at Sunriver VIP event. The kindnesses and generosity of Park West Gallery CARES has been overwhelming for our high school Art teacher and students. They will be able to study Art right in their classroom instead of going on expensive trips out of town. The art pieces and books will be used for years to come. Park West Gallery has shown that people still care about what is important in life, helping others to better themselves. Giving money is temporary, but the gift of art is long lasting and can move the very soul. Thank you again for all your efforts in making this a reality!!!!"

Written by Daniel & Jaclyn DuPont
As a married couple, one of the many benefits of being Art Auctioneers representing Park West Gallery on cruise ships is that we are able to work, travel and live together. Not many couples can say they love what they do, experience what we have experienced, and do all of these things together.

We have been married for three years now and by working as Art Auctioneers, we have had the opportunity to travel the world. We’ve visited over 100 countries and the experiences we have gained through our travels are immeasurable...

LAKE GENEVA, Wisconsin — Park West Gallery is extending its philanthropic Park West Gallery CARES initiative in an effort to support communities nationwide. Its first donation outside of Michigan and Florida, where Park West Gallery offices are located, consisted of a collection of art books made to the Lake Geneva Public Library in Wisconsin.

“Art books of this quality are expensive to purchase, and, due to our current economy, many libraries are experiencing budget cut-backs," said Alisha Benson, Public Services Coordinator for the library. "Thanks to Park West Gallery, patrons of our Library Consortium of 42 libraries now have the opportunity to encounter the works of modern artists they may not have previously studied..."
